Southlake Sister Cities Sponsoring Young Artists Contest for International Showcase
The 2017 Theme: We’re Going Places
Authors and Artists: students who are between 13 – 18 years old, Filmmakers and Photographers: students who are between 13 – 22 years old
Guidelines Southlake YAAS 2017
Artwork: If multiple entries of Artwork, Southlake Sister Cities will do a contest locally and the winner of the Artwork will be submitted to Sister Cities International. One piece will move on to the international competition for $1000 Grande Prize and a nationwide showcase.
Art must be two dimensional unframed, and no larger than 24in x 36in. Media of all types are encouraged, including pencil, ink, paint, prints, collage, and mixed media.
Essays and Poems: Essays 500 words or less, poems 200 words or less. Multiple entries are allowed.
Photography: All photography must be submitted through the SSC Instagram.
Film: Short films 1 -10 minutes in length. Films shot in color or black and white. Documentaries, fiction, and/or animation are eligible. Film entries will be submitted through Southlake Sister Cities via Cinequest.
Awards: Judging will take place in late May and winners and finalists will be announced in June 2017.
Five U.S. and five International finalists will be selected. One U.S. artist and one International artist will be selected as Grand Prize Winners. Each Grand Prize Winner will receive $1,000 cash. All submissions will be done thru Southlake Sister Cities.
